Oh, I hope you get some answers on cleaning that treasure!! I’m afraid I’d be too scared to advise. Guess what I got for Christmas!!! I got a Cutie Quilt Frame!! I currently have a quilt on my big Grace EZ Quilt frame and have been hand quilting it. Now that we’re moved in and settled, I...

Oh, yeah!! Post it over on the Hummingbird Haven thread…we need to wake that one up! :lau Nobody in my family quilted. When I started back in 1972, before the big BiCentennial craze to relive the olden days hit, neighborhood gossip branded me as “that poor woman who has to make her own blankets...

Well, as I live and breathe…..WV, you’re also a quilter? Did I know that before and my feeble brain just forgot, or is this new info to me? Can’t help with your question, though. I hand quilt all of mine.

You just lay the quilt over the square, then there are 4 plastic “holders” that snap on to hold the top of the quilt. With a simple twist of those holders, you...

I can’t even imagine! I broke my foot in October I fell getting into the camper we were living in (missed a step) while our house was being built and couldn't believe what a painful hitch that relatively minor injury put in my git-a-long! To go through everything you endured…..I shudder to think!

See? There ya go!! Need another reason? How about one I learned at an antique sewing machine symposium many years ago. The only truly straight stitches are sewn on antique machines - Singers and others - those WITHOUT zig-zag capabilities. Surprised? So was I! Turns out that under high...

Okay, you forced me into it! ;) This one is called “I Remember Mama”, made in loving memory of my mom and her flower gardens, but the rest of the world knows it as “The Albatross” because of how long it took me to make. It’s a Broderie Perse quilt and throughout the 4 years of its construction...

I didn’t know you’d broken your leg either, but then I’ve been off BYC for almost 2 years. Just made it back last month. I am so sorry that you’ve had to endure that! I use these workhorses for almost all of my quilts. I‘ve had an Elna Quilter’s Dream for years and years, and it works...
