Who has a link for the next hatch along? I decided to give my broodies eggs 45 minutes ago instead of waiting, and giving them feed store babies in a few weeks.
These are actually the first chicks he’s ever seen. He was actually last year‘s male chick. At least, I think so I’m looking at the picture. :lol: His uncle is the main roo as far as I know. Every time I think I can tell the difference, I doubt myself a day later.

Then he ran away along with the mother(s). It does answer my question. When chicks see other chickens, they run to them... and the adults run away.
Definitely! I think Duckling was four when I had to put shoes on two quail. I swear I only managed it because she had tiny fingers to manipulate their tiny toes!
You can leave the single chick in there for another day without issue. If nothing else hatches, get more from a feed store or put it in with a bird mirror or CD to make it feel less alone.
