    There is no need to put chicken wire over it! that will make it harder to clean and the chickens will get their feet caught in it.

    PDZ is a brand name. The stuff is zeolite.

    I have found that 1 foot of roost space per bird is ok for winter because they like to be close together to keep warm but in the warmer months they really need more room to spread out.

    PDZ is a brand name look or ask for 'zeolite' that is what the product is. You should be able to get it for about 15.00 for 50 #.

    Reading all these pages I decided to try the sweet pdz but couldn't find it locally so I found zeolite through Azure Standard. It's granular and it's grey, all the pics here it looked white or off white? Any thoughts on this- is it the same stuff??
