that was because Gabbard Farms had them but they stopped raising them and I'm not sure if they are around there on one of the threads though we can ask
as who has contacted me Wheaten are the rarest though not extinct. @LuannKeller has some last I heard though I am not sure how many.
that is really it. I know there is more around but no one wanting to be added to breeders lists or on the Facebook page saying they have them. I have seen photos...
Hi Guy it was a pack of Coyotes they got the rooster first. I have not been on here in awhile one main reason is I fenced the bottom of my property where i can now free range and at least not have to worry about Coyotes.
I fenced a area for my goats about 1/2 acre plus a 1/2 acre garden area...
Thanks Ron.
its been busy at work. between work , family and chickens. not a lot of free time.
unfortunately i tried to free range some Crele and ended up loosing half my Crele Penedesenca so I am trying to hatch some more as now I'm down to 4 hens and a rooster
i just messaged you I think you should hatch some from Guy ( Chickencanoe ) then I can send you some too if you want more.
he has nice birds and is probably closer we have had a mild winter though and matchability has been very good so far.
I am about to set partridge penedesenca and crele olive...
no not now. I sold my Empordanesa but are regretting it. so I am trying to get some eggs back. I do not have Wheaten myself. They seem to be the hardest to find these days it seems like. At least the fewest breeders responded for the website
i do not have a egg scale but are a large size i would estimate.
the Egg above is a brown Red Ameraucana bantam egg though there eggs are usually almost the same size as my silver am girl
sorry about your coop. my black are laying well. I hatched them in winter. my crele from the winter hatch and partridge are laying too. the only ones that are not are my spring/summer hatched girls
we had some wind here a few weeks back as well. Its been chilly since our rain a few days ago and looks like it will be colder next week.
if it decides it wants to get into the upper teens at night I may lather my roosters combs with Vetrex so far it looks as though our 2 coldest days will be...
Id put him with a few Empordanesa hens if you can get any. it will take a few crosses to get the yellow legs back.
That is one white Bird
can you get a close up of that almost crele looking hen you posted on the Spanish Breed thread?
white is recessive on the Empordanesa. The key is finding the combo. There are differences between the two breeds though as Empordanesa should be slightly larger than the penedesenca except Black as the Black is a dual purpose bird, Empordanesa have less white on there earlobes as well. no more...
