    Hatching Goose eggs

Here are some pictures of our Goslings. I have included a photo of the straddle legged Gosling in it's box yesterday. It didn't stay in there long, even with it's legs tied together lol For my next query..... Is it likely that one of the Goslings is being picked on by the other two? Every...

    Hatching Goose eggs

I've removed the sawdust and replaced it with an old towel. The 3rd gosling is walking and running about fine now, panic over.

    Hatching Goose eggs

Thanks for the link Miss Lydia, I originally put them on paper, but realised quite quickly that it was no good and changed it for rough sawdust. 2 of the chicks are perfect, running and jumping around, the 3rd one still has a problem but I keep setting it back on it's feet and even help hold it...

    Hatching Goose eggs

All the goslings are doing well, one of them is now standing up properly, but the other two don't seem to be able to find their legs. Is that normal at this stage? They look a bit pathetic with their legs and big feet sticking out either side of them.

    Hatching Goose eggs

So here we are, 3 healthy (so far) goslings. I have moved them in to the brooder as the condensation in the bator was dripping on them. The room they are in is nice and warm, they have a lamp and the oil filled radiator in there next to the brooder. They are almost dry but not found their...

    Hatching Goose eggs

As I write this I have 2 hatched and 1 on it's way. The egg shells look very messy inside, is that normal for geese? I don't remember my chicken eggs looking that bad. If the survive til the morning I will take photos and put them on here.

    Hatching Goose eggs

Here's a couple of photos of my goose eggs that have just pipped. My stress levels are overflowing at the moment as I am not convinced my hygrometer has functioned properly and I'm afraid the chicks my be very weak. Both the chicks that have pipped the wrong end are cheeping and chipping...

    Hatching Goose eggs

Thank you for your advice, greatly appreciated. The 2 wrong end goslings have now made air holes so I am not so stressed about it. I am keeping an eye on the membrane to make sure it stays moist, but I will not interfere for now.

    Hatching Goose eggs

Quick update, a 3 chicks have externally pipped. Only 1 in the right end though. I'm keeping a close eye on progress. I can hear the chicks and still see the eggs rocking.

    Hatching Goose eggs

Well, overnight I have had 1 chick external pip the wrong end, so I have very carefully removed a small bit of shell and I am keeping and eye on the membrane. 1 egg is internally pipped correctly. All 3 eggs are rockin and rollin all over the place and they are chirping too. I have gone...

    Hatching Goose eggs

The humidity has run at 10 % the whole time as I couldn't get it under control with the fan going. Shall I up the humidity now then, before the others have pipped?

    Hatching Goose eggs

Help! 1 of my 3 goose eggs has pipped internally, but the other 2 are about 24 hrs away I think. What do I do? I will stop turning the 1 but do I lock down or wait for the others? I need to up the humidity now for that 1, but will it harm it to wait another 24 hours? If the others do...

    Hatching Goose eggs

Here we go then...stress levels building! I am at day 24 of my goose egg incubating. So far all seems well and the chicks are still alive My question is, do I stop turning now? The air sacs are well developed and have dipped a bit. What day do I go in to lock down again please? Keep...

    Hatching Goose eggs

I have 3 goose eggs from my pair in the incubator, they are at day 14. Up until 3 days ago the temperature and humidity were perfect, I just have some water in the middle section. But, I seem to have lost control of the humidity. The water in the middle now makes it go too high, if I take it...
