This is super helpful. I am about 45 minutes from you, so climate should be exactly the same! Thank you! If you hatch eggs, maybe we could trade eggs in a year or two to add new genes (if I get the Ameraucana!)
I would love Cochins as I have heard they are WONDERFUL…the broodiness trait scares me! I could do without as many eggs but I would go crazy breaking broodies left & right!
An occasionally broody hen is to be expected. I could take care of that once in awhile lol.
I would prefer sweet personality, cold hardy, and regular eggs as my top priorities.
Beauty would be lower priority.
I’d prefer to avoid super broody as I won’t be broody hatching much.

So I am already thinking ahead to the future. I have never had Bantams, since they usually only come straight run. However I have a family member who is interested in taking all the bantam roos if I place an order next late this year or next year. So I may be able to get or hatch some!
