TSC is done in Alabama.
Never got any Brahmas. Grrrrrrrrr. So no large fowl for me this year.
Here is the rundown for bantams we got.
Cochins: both sexes (red)
Silkies: females (black, whites & buff)
Frizzles: both sexes (whites & buff)
D'uccle: both sexes (standard)
Sebrights: both...
Checked with my local TSC...they are going to keeping getting chicks until the end of April.
2 months now, and still no Brahmas at mine. I am still hopefully that they will get them in.
Okay here are my two brooders ...
Showgirls and Production Pullets from TSC, spending some time outside to play
(although the one production pullet looks like a roo...what do you think?)
@nd Brooder is TSC bantam mix (silkies, frizzles, sablepoot, d'uccle and a few that I am not sure of):
Well, we got more Cornish, RIR and Sicilian buttercups in again. Unfortunately, still no Brahma.
But I did break down and buy some ducks. Not sure what they are though.
Well, unfortunately, no Brahmas this week either.
And again we got the RIR, that are over populated here. We don't need anymore.
Featured Breed of the Week: Cuckoo Marans.
Something new, which is nice. Don't know much about them, though.
No, I haven't yet. Did a lot of searching on the web. Only found a few so far with that color pattern & bantam...Silver DuckWing Old English, Welsummer, Silver DuckWing Phoenix and various colors of Dutch. But I am still looking.
I got one just like yours. No one seems to know what it is yet. Did they by chance tell you? They look very similar to the Welsummer bantams. But those are rare.
Mine is the Littlest and the meanest...LOL
Picks on the others, so funny watch the larger ones run from the runt.
They got bantams in today.
Went there straight after work and only 6 left. I was so lucky.
Any help as to what they may be...
1 looks like my red (earlier posted and identified as a Booted)
4 are like this one (with feathered legs)...
RIR are the main breed owned around me. I refuse to have any... just cause...fighting the system. Need to shake it up down here in lower AL.
There is a chicken auction every Friday night near me and all they ever have is RIR.
I mean really, a couple of my friends that were helping get...
Same boat for me...new breeds every week. Same as my kids in a electronic store or my husband at lowe's..."I WANT! I WANT!"
Luckily, I limit myself to feather footed. Helps a lot.
Yippeee.
3 of the bantams have the black/gray skin. So hoping they are Silkies!
2 had a little extra puff to their forehead - maybe polish.
1 (red picture) not sure yet. She has pink skin. Seriously hoping D'uccle.
But I am not done shopping yet. hee hee hee hee
I was able to get some bantams today. Although, TSC didn't know what type they were.
They are so cute!
However, I couldn't resist buying one that was tinier than all the rest and very dirt. It's poor feather/fluff is all mated and stuck together.
I gave it a very quick wipe down, but still...
I'm with you. I have gone by our tsc for three days now. They have gotten some in each day, but they are always production pullets.
It would be nice if they have some idea of what they were getting, but I'm sure it would be hard to say what will hatch and be ready at the time of shipment.
