I would also appreciate if anyone could tell me the name of their colouring? The white one has now developed grey through its neck and splashes of brown. The black one isn’t solid black- is it blue?

Updated pictures- here they are at 10 weeks old. It looks like the white one is a cockerel and the black one is a pullet. The white one has large red wattles & has always had thicker legs and been taller.

I just realised I never posted pictures of the other polish. This is the other polish which we think is a hen. The white polish above is the one bird.

This is so cool. Is it a positive thing when they jump on your shoulder or are they return to assert their dominance? Our little pekin walks up our arm onto our shoulder.

H When he was 1 week old he used to nip aggressively at my hand as I was picking him up. I thought he was just scared but perhaps it was a warning sign of cockerel?

Yes.. the little pekin bantam has stolen my heart. He runs around eagerly when he sees me and jumps on my arm. He loves being stroked on his face, chest, head & wings. I’ve heard that Roos can turn from affectionate to deadly. It would break my heart if he turned on me. Are you super confident...

Ooh I hope so! She/or he is so skittish for a hand raised chick which is why we thought a young cockerel.

Hi everyone. I am raising 2 Polish chickens and and 1 pekin bantam. The white polish is the biggest and purposefully stands tall over the other chicks. She also is always on the look out. I suspect it is a boy. Please let me know what you think. He is 5 weeks old today.
