She turned out to have sour crop. Think she is over that now but she has rather worms or an infection, but what ever it is it is taking her down slow. I have her on anti biotics and a wormer at the minute. Cant believe how out of control it has all got. I'm so disappointed with myself. Happy to...

. I ha I have had her since last May. I have lots of experience with ex batts so would be easier if it was something like that. She is usually really active and healthy. Probably the healthiest out of all my girls.

Not eating much, lethargic and huddled up. She had an impacted crop and that is sorted now. She passes poo but little of it. I thought maybes it was turning into sour crop but no signs of it. No signs of any respiratory infections or anything either. Not egg bound, no lice or mites...

I It's fine . I have an ill girl too and don't have a clue what's up with her and none of my chicken friend know either . It's 1am here in the uk now so I think it's time to go to sleep! Will be back on in the morning to seeing there's any updates!

Just the whole point of the pecking order really. The top hens have it easy and the lower ones get picked on. I find that my girls are horrible. There is about 2 nice ones out the lot. Out of all my girls there is no top hen now and no one gets it easy to be honest, some get it easier them...

Try not to keep her separated for more than 4 days without them seeing each other or they will forget who she is and treat her like a new girl which is usually worse than being the bottom hen. I kept my ill girl away for a week and when I out her back all the girls forgot who she was and turned...

I have a shed with low perches and one with high perches. Luckily the Bo's favour the low perch one!

Also how high up are your perches? Having bugf Orpington's myself I know they are big birds. Is it possible she could have jamp down and maybes landed on something sharp bruising the bone in her foot?

Well I have just seen this from watching programmes about wild animals because it shows that when they are injured they loose weight and get weak. What's their diet like? If not getting enough calcium then she could have been taking calcium from her bones for laying which has made her get...

I've been so focused on worms that I haven't thought about this. The leg would deffo explain her not gaining weight ect.

Well if it is worms then not worming her will do nothing but make her worse. You could phone the vet and ask for advice or if you have money to spare you couldnt get a poo sample and find out. Personally, I would order your wormer anyways and for the next couple of days, give her the sick chuck...

Also remember to not put too much ACV in the water or she ma not drink it and then she will get dehydrated which wont be good for a hen which is already run down!
