Or you could make a small one now that could easily be taken apart and moved later and Then you could build new or add on later. I'm using a green house frame now to rehab a kestrel and works great. It could easily be unbolted and moved somewhere...as far as your other questions I'll have to...

Destin- the only thing I have left at the house is a pair of Amherst and a ruddy shelduck male. Plus a hanful of domestics. The mergansers died on me , something got the ruddy hen...and I couldn't keep a pheasant chick alive for nothing. Hope things went better for you? As far as pumps go...

That cane type grass I have in there they wont even touch and for some reason they didn't bother the wheat in there too much either or the honey suckle. But of course I planted all of it in there full size anyhow so they didn't get a chance to eat the small sprouts

carbon filters from walmart with scotch bright pads all placed I n a skimmer box that flows into where the pump is. An old sand filter and pump from a swimming pool will work also. The water still needs changed after a couple weeks because of the ammonia and nitrogen levels but as long as you...

I have maybe $500 in eggs waiting to hatch. If I sell all those then ill spend $30 on some ruddy shelducks and be done this year so I can have college money but who knows I get a real bad itch in the fall when the auctions are going on and I have been wanting some mergansers and tragopans. Hope...

A little update on my aviary. I brought in a lot more sandstone, lined the bottom pond with large heavy stones and finished up the top waterfowl with stone. I planted that tall cane like grass that on the corner. added more sandstone, and hung some planters.

Well, after battling the black snakes this week and loosing 5 mandarin eggs i think i might be back on track. I have been doing some serious work on my pen and pond. I have planted honey suckle growing and have added another 2 layers to the original pond layout. This is the first addition, which...

As far as how i made it. If you knew what my pen looked like before, i just put a board on the east side bewteen the 4x4s (south wall 4x4 with the brown nest box and the middle 4x4 that holds up the net) which ends up being the wall the waterfowl sets on, then i put a 2x4 on the south wall...

The top pond is maybe a foot deep and the lower one 2-3. They are pond liners from lowes, the 10x13ft ones. $60. The top pond liner is my old pond liner, it has holes and cracks in it (after a year the sun makes the liner hard and brittle. Funny how the new one feels so rubbery compared to the...

Both my nets (the one on my aviary and the one i have in storage) came from people i'm friends with or the gamebird resorts i worked for. Do you plan on using the aviary for just calls? If you think about buying a net the 2 inch netting does good when withstanding snow and ice build up as...
