I am surprised that they ask so little for it, as it is no longer in production. Time to grab a second one if you wish, before they realize that they could get more for it. 😉
I did not notice it either. I assumed it was Chinese because I could read the characters. But I read 2 of them wrong and only realized when I looked at the photo again. 😅
Here is what I have found so far: It is from the 1920s, it is made of bronze, and it was used for trinkets and jewelry. It was a very popular item at street markets, but production ended when Japan invaded China in 1931.
I have an old glass doll that I do not know the age of. It is new enough to have a Made in China tag, but it is glass. And as far as I am aware, glass dolls are not made anymore. 🤔 I used to have a collection of glass dolls from before the 1950s, but due to a home problem, they were all damaged...
