He doesn't need water, as far as the vent this is what happens when they aren't ready to come out, he hasn't finished doing his job. Will he be ok yes as long as you don't mess with him, just let him do this thing, that vent will shrink down and close up, once that happens, you'll see him...
Ok we don't want anything slippery under him, causes Spraddled leggs, so get a wash cloth or a towel, shelf liner is really good, but we need something he can use his toes to grip at.
What we need to do is shrink wrap him. I know this sounds weird, but this is will the only time we want to shrink wrap him, we need him to shrink that vent as fast as we can to avoid infection. So by lowering the humidity this should do the job. So lower that humidity to around 50-55.
I don't mean to yell, but he didn't need to be messed with yet, you still had 24 hours then we could have intervene, in that 24 hours he probably would have been out on his own,
I stress this soooo many times, your on there schedule not yours.
DIDNT I SAY HE WAS HAVING AND ISSUE WITH THAT...
I need you to look inside that shell, keep the shell on him, do not remove it, very important, look inside and tell me do you see yolk, OR do you see his vent that is swelled up. Swelled up vents can EASILY be mistaken by yolk..
