I showed my birds this last spring and had a problem with them "hunkering down". Is there a way to teach them to stay confident and healthy looking?

I have another question.... how do you cope with the pine chips in the cages at shows? Do you go around with a paper towel and pick poop out of all the cages every 2 minutes?

@I Love Layers , how do the judges judge trios? I had someone from my school show a quad, the fair had her fill out 4 different cards and the judge judged them separately.

That's why I am planning more toward February to give the pullets over a month to get their eggs a good size & shape.

I am planning on hopefully hatching some January/February, too. Mine should start laying in about 4 weeks.

I can't wait until my pullets start laying si that after awhile I can finally hatch some serama babies!

No growth either? Bummer.
