You are most welcome and I would be sure to keep a close eye on Mom to make sure she takes good care of them. Such little Cutie Pies!!!

I think since you do not have the unhatched one in a incubator I would leave the bigger heat source on until it hatches and dries out all of the way. It might have trouble hatching if not enough heat and get chilled being wet when it comes out. Good luck.

I also use the big flakes of pine shavings so that they don't eat them. Yours look to be pretty fine from the picture. I have lately been using puppy pads that I get from a big discount store here called Sam's Club. You can get 150 of them for only 20 some dollars and those work well. I...

Help! I have a hatchling/.pushed out of nest and half hatched...

I have only a 40 watt bulb that I use on a clamp on reading lamp that is close to my ducklings but not where they can touch it. That has always worked for me in a brooder. I also keep a towel over the top of my tote though covering all but maybe a few inches to keep the heat in. I have strong...

I myself would have gotten off of the straw and put it on a clean paper towel to keep the straw from possibly poking a hole in the yolk sac. That's just me though. That is what mine was on and it eventually absorbed all of the yolk sac and was just fine. I pray this little one makes it alright.

Mine did when it hatched out early. I had it on a clean paper towel and a few hours later it absorbed all of it and was just fine. Good luck with your little one.

I totally agree. It can live off of that yolk sac for 2 to 3 days with no problems at all and will not need anything while trying to hatch out. Also once it is out make sure it does not jump into that water and get chilled. It's amazing how lively they can be soon out of the shell. Good luck...

With that amount of heat you will not need any artificial source. I would think that the coconut oil is ok, just be sure not to get any in their mouth or nares. Good luck with this little one and so sorry you lost your other one.

I think I would put it under a 40 watt light bulb in a styrofoam cooler. I have done that before to let them finish hatching. I would be hesitant to let Mom have it back. Some ducks are not good Moms. The choice is yours. People have also used heating pads to finish the hatch. Good luck.
