    Hen gasping for air

Well she's doing much better. She's eating and drinking on her own and not gasping really. She still sounds a bit hoarse when breathing though. I'm not sure if it was the tylan, baytril, or panacur, but something definitely helped. @casportpony should I keep giving her all three meds? And if...

    Hen gasping for air

I did 35 ml. She hated every second of it and struggled like crazy. I had to re-run the tube down 4 times. Her crop did feel probably about halfway full, I think I could have gotten 60 in. I'm going to wait a bit though before trying more. She was pretty stressed out at the end. I never knew...

    Hen gasping for air

I can, is 60 ml too much? When I do my ducks they can usually only take 30 ml. tops.

    Hen gasping for air

I just checked her over pretty carefully and didn't see anything at all. I'll check again in the morning when it's light out. I gave her the dose of tylan just now too. She's acting worse and seems very stressed out. It also looks like she's only pooped one time since around noon. I have her in...

    Hen gasping for air

I've only ever had one mite problem and one lice problem over the years, and only in the summer from the nasty sparrows.

    Hen gasping for air

I don't, I usually just use Farnam permethrin fly spray if necessary. We have it on hand for our dogs' ears in the summer.

    Hen gasping for air

I don't see any lice or mites. I check the birds over frequently.

    Hen gasping for air

Ok, so .25 ml of panacur once a day for 4 more days, and .13 ml twice a day of baytril for at least 3 days? I already gave the panacur today, I'll go give the baytril now and then again late tonight.

I spread the feathers apart quite a bit here, so it doesn't typically look this prominent. It looks a little sore, maybe from laying down extra?

I'll go take one shortly. Ok 👍 Should I give both in addition to the panacur or should I give one or the other? I'm fine with trying whatever you think is best.

Of the panacur? So my 0.2 ml I gave last night was probably pretty close then.

    Hen gasping for air

Yes, I accidentally bumped it to gram while weighing her and it did say 800 something so that should be right. I'm surprised she's so light. Poor girl.

    Hen gasping for air

Ok @casportpony I weighed her, she's at 1 lb 13 oz. I was pretty shocked that that was all. She really doesn't feel that light. I weighed her sister and she was around 4 lbs, body condition wise they felt pretty similar. So that's kind of odd. She's still gasping every time she breathes. I...

    Hen gasping for air

Everyone wanted to go to town and see if there was any black Friday stuff left so I just gave her some panacur quick to see if it helped at all. I gave her some soaked catfish food too which she ate.

    Hen gasping for air

I have not weighed her. I can shortly but I'm going to guess around 5 pounds. Ok, I can probably do that.

    Hen gasping for air

    Ok, thank you.

    Hen gasping for air

I guess it would depend on the day, but I'd probably be able to manage 2 or 3 times.

    Hen gasping for air

I have never dewormed my chickens, only my ducks. The chickens have never shown any signs of having worms.

I also have amoxicillin and carprofen in my med drawer if those would be worth anything. They're old though.
