    Sorry to hear the bad news... As others have said, peas can be tricky sometimes with health turning on a dime with no obvious signals or signs things are slipping, personally I don't take that deep breath until the peas chicks get to be about that 4 month mark...

    May I offer up another word of caution before you consider this venture... Spend a season running and perfecting your incubation procedures, testing the incubator and planning and preparing for all the possible issues and problems that could happen before you take on hatching other peoples...

    I have not verified it myself, but yes that is what many state as a fact based upon their experiences... I still have a few pea eggs in my incubator as well that are due in a few weeks, my local egg supplier's hens stopped laying for about 2 weeks (end of July start of August) when the cocks...

    It's my understanding that the hormone change that causes the train loss also creates sterility, just like it does in most birds during a molt... But, the female can store sperm for about a month or longer so there is still a chance...
