I’d def keep her inside for a while to watch her, make sure she’s drinking and eating. Did you notice anyone picking on her a good pop to the head may cause what you saw. Some vitamins in her drinking water like Poultry Nutridrench. Are her eyes dilated
Any way you can set them up where they can see each other but aren’t together until the polish is stronger and maybe try them together in a week? That way they can see each other but no way the tiny polish can get stepped on? I’d try an find a buddy for your Cochin too unless you can put all 3...
So they are inside and haven’t been on the ground at all? How large is their brooder they have plenty of room to run around? I don’t know what could be wrong but it’s always a learning curve so don’t get discouraged. I think chicks are more fragile than ducklings too. Is the one you found...
I’m sorry to hear this. :hugs How many do you have now and any symptoms and how old are they? How’s their poop looking and where are you keeping them feed etc?
I buy a NON GMO feed it’s out of Alabama I believe called Natures Crest I don’t have much of choices here. TSC is 25 mile from us so I don’t use them for feed. We c have 1 feed store. I think that feed Nature wise is also a good feed.
Not crumbles necessarily unless that’s your preference. I have found mine waste less if they eat pellets. I just can’t feed just a duck food since my chickens can’t eat it.
They are great looking eggs. The smallest should get larger over time. Sounds like they are all doing great and of course spoiled. I love spoiling mine too.
If you can get the duck pellets I don't think you'd need to add anything to their feed unless your having one with a problems with their legs then you might want to keep Nutritional yeast on hand.
@Texag87 why don't you want anyone thinking you have chickens?
I think the food is great let’s see @DuckyDonna and @quackiemama both feed this to their ducks. Actually there will probably be less waste with pellets. How’s everyone doing? Getting through winter okay?
You’ve done a great job getting them into a safer place since predators are so sneaky they can attack quick and before we can respond. I bet they like all the extra space too and a comfy house to sleep and get out of the weather. I can’t tell in your pics if you have hardware cloth over all you...
Thanks for the update I sure do look forward to their new accommodations it’s sounds perfect! I like that you wanted them where you could keep an eye on them from your room to. I have my birds close too for that reason. You’ve sure come along way from where you started when you first brought...
Yep mine get doses of Nutritional yeast often.
https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/geese-sticky-topics-index.497391/ some good reading here.
Sounds like you are keeping them all safe and watching for problems! Keep up the good work.
They can sure be a hoot. I would worry if both boys were on top of one of the girls in deep water.
Geese yes. Research, research, research before you decide. Geese really are awesome addition but can be quite challenging too. Breeding season hatching goslings. Personality changes. In other...
Beautiful flock. They all look great an sounds like other than a bit of chasing boys are not doing too bad together. That’s awesome!! As for the mating thing feel blessed that Ferguson pushes Webby off an doesn’t just climb on top. That would be hard on a female being under 2 drakes. Then of...
