    My Embden gander is going on 10 yrs old hatched here and has known me all his life he would bite me in a minute during breeding season .Ganders just have attitude. Gotta love them though. I do offer a little corm in my hand to my gander. But I would never let a young child hand feed one.

    So it will be interesting to see how she is with her own. But I know to do to keep her from braking others is to collect them as early in the day as you can. I have to do that here just to keep someone from wanting to sit and hatch.

    @spoilt70 how is she breaking them? My female goose loves to go in and noodle around the duck eggs but hasn't ever broken any. So I am not sure what the motive your goose has in breaking the duck eggs unless she is just too rough with them.. I doubt my goose could break any of my Muscovy's...

    @TheTwoRoos Geese do the head down pointed bill as a warning to keep your distance mine do it too. Very rarely do my geese actually grab another bird as long as the rest heed the warning they are usually all fine together. Now during breeding season it's a different story I have a fenced off...

    Your taking a risk preds can climb and dig but all we can do is give advise it's up to the member to take it. What breed are they do you have pics?

    @TheTwoRoos Please don't get 5 month old geese and put them out on a pond. They are still young and will need protection from preds but even when adult they will still need night time protection. They really don't have any defense against snapping turtles snapper have been known to bite feet...
