I know exactly what your saying my imprinted drake doesn't like for me to pick him up I think he thinks it makes him look weak to be carried around by a woman. lol That is a good sign that he is back to his normal ornery self. I bet he is going to be so happy to see his girls and the girls...

That's a good idea on keeping him home. Did you decide what your going to use in their pens? And did you bring home one of the girls to keep him company? how's that going? Sounds like his foot is healing good, that's great and so much better than having to cut and dig that stuff out. I like...

He'll like having one of his girls home with him. I have read of people using sand in their pens and houses but sand is abrasive and wondered how that would be on their feet over time. Any thought on what you'll use?

Bless his heart, I agree about the vet visit. she is taking a cautious approach and hopefully the treatment and antibiotics will get it under control. is there anyway you can take him over for visit and leave him in the dog crate just so everyone can say hi, might perk him up

I imagine it's painful, and it the infection can spread too but hopefully that hasn't happened. Vets are expensive period but I have never taken any of my flock to one. Have you looked into the shelter there and see if you can get a reduced rate for spaying and vaccines. we rescued a dog once...
