I don't think Marek's Disease causes lung tumors. It causes tumors on the eyes, skin, nerves, liver, heart, intestines, and bursa, but I don't think it can on the lungs.

Is the bird laying down a lot? Chickens are kinda like horses. When they lay down it becomes difficult for them to breathe (but they won't die if they lay down too long).

Yes, once the tumors start growing it's too late. However, the hypericum can squeeze a few extra days of life out if you overdose them with it. But it's better to just put them down at that point.
Oh, that's pretty interesting. I'll have to look into that.
Marek's Disease is found in the soil, so if one bird has it it's safe to assume that all your birds have it. You can place new birds on land that has never had chickens before and they will still get it. The good news is that most birds are naturally resistant, and symptoms only occur in...
With my experience, when you start treating the symptoms will not get any worse unless you overdose. They may not get any better though too. Sometimes it can take a looooong time for them to recover, and sometimes the symptoms will return as soon as you stop treating. It depends on the bird...

I use the 30. It doesn't really matter though, all it takes is a single drop. But I think the 30 is more likely to find its mark cause it has a higher concentration.
Shrader: no, Marek's is a poultry disease only and even then it's very picky about affecting chickens only. Rarely does it ever affect ducks. Cook the eggs properly and you'll destory the virus.
It's more likely to occur in young birds, but it can occur in older birds too. It's sort of like...
My one bird that recovered and later died for other reasons was necropsied. The results came back with no evidence of Marek's Disese on the nerve tissue. I'm not sure if they checked for the virus in other areas (spleen, liver, etc) but that's all that came back. If I had the equipment, this...
Well, I don't know if cure is the best word... but it actually healed the lesions on the nerves caused by Marek's Disease. So whatever it is... it works. It's relatively new... so I don't think anyone has tested the science behind it. It's a homeopathic remedy.

A vet told me this. I've used it, it works most of the time. The industry doesn't use it because it's more economical to replace the bird, not fix the problem.
Oh, well if your goats are eating it and not getting sick then the chickens would be fine too. I believe the the flower is the part that carries the drug.

It actually cures. I had a bird who had classic symptoms. I treated her with the Hypericum and she made a full recovery. A year later she died from old age and we had her body necropsied. All the lesions caused by Marek's had completely healed. Our vet looked it over and confirmed...
