    Reforming an aggressive rooster (project)

I enjoyed this article. Thank you Defining your goals, and your ability to reach them. I am not interested in being attacked. A bird, that gives me space is my goal. A bird that runs across and flies at me, not so much. I enjoyed this. Mrs K

Which makes it appear that the human is being trained, not the bird. You are walking around on eggs shells. Trying not to incite the bully. Some women or abused people live like this with an aggressive person. We ranch, we deal with intact males all the time. Pay huge sums of money for them...

Meanwhile, I have a leghorn who is going the opposite way. Aggressive towards me, and yesterday and today he was very aggressive toward my hen, who I think is thinking about going broody. He is on borrowed time. He really doesn't like a bucket hanging from my hand. Chickens! they drive you nuts.

I disagree. I think you are falling into the trap of blaming yourself for his behavior. In a way, if it is your fault you can change and the bird will too. I see a different scenario. The people who had him saw aggression and the writing on the wall. Aggressive behavior is aggressively...

Centrachids advice is very good advice. ^^. That mob emotion as they swarm the gate, waiting for you to come in is very exciting. I have taken this advice, go down, add clean fresh water, gather the eggs, just wait a bit, watch a bit, and then, when things have calmed down, then feed the chickens.

I don't think following you is a good sign. Generally that means they are looking to attack you from behind?

Centrachid has way more experience than I ever will. And he is much more scientific than me. But I will offer this: Chicks raised by people are less skittish than chicks raised by a broody hen. I like that, I love having chickens, but really do not have pets that I pet and hold. So I like my...

I bet you both like to play with fire, right? I admire your determination to make this work. Just a couple of things to consider, and then I will just follow this post with interest. These type of birds are opportunistic, they will take the battle on if at their advantage, from behind, or...
