Is it possible to keep a single male Coturnix quail?

I just said I would give the extras to my nan and pop and they would keep what they need and cull the rest. I also just said that I would buy some females. I am 100% listening to you and taking in what you say, but it's like you're not listening to me. I already stated that I was giving away the...

Is it possible to keep a single male Coturnix quail?

Im giving away one of my males, and waiting for one of my parents to do it. I will then either keep a female from the batch I'm hatching for my nan and pop soon, or buy a female from somewhere. There aren't many quail owners In my area, though.

Is it possible to keep a single male Coturnix quail?

I was planning on giving it away, and if no one wanted it hatching more birds, but I would always have him on the market. I would hatch lots and be prepared to give them away, but only do this if no one wanted the bird. How do I prevent this? That's another reason to hatch more. I've been...

Is it possible to keep a single male Coturnix quail?

Sugar is still crying. He hasn't crowed once since Cinni left and just seems.. Sad. Cinni seems lonely too. I don't know what to do, I don't want to see them sad. I feel so bad about separating them, Eve though I know it's right to do so.

Here's Cinni's temporary cage, I made do with what I had. She has a mirror next to it. It's in my bedroom so I can socialize with her often. I'm seeing if anyone near me wants him, but if they don't I'll just hatch some more of my eggs and hope they are all female.

Is it possible to keep a single male Coturnix quail?

The problem with getting more females to put him with is that he is small, and almost completely incapable of mating successfully. I've watched him attempt to mate, but fail miserably. He ends up just pulling others feathers off and being too small to mount properly. If he doesn't pull their...

Thanks, I'll have to talk to my parents. They said no more birds, but I think they might consider it looking at the situation.
