Thanks sweetie.
AI is a real pain and a big learning curve for me as I only got my first chickens in May. However, getting inventive and trying my best to separate food and water from wild birds. Jackie broody again so she spent the weekend in the house and is now being restricted to a run...
Well my lovely people, now I am out of the dark place in my head, the dark mornings and nights are not so bad. With my trusty torch I scoop poop in the morning, remove broody silkies to the broody pen and put out feed and water. Every night I clean additional poop, wash and replenish feeders...
Thanks lovely.
Aaaww you sound like me - a real, soppy animal person ha ha.
Yes, all the cats generally sleep on my bed with me at night, or at least in my room if I'm too restless - that time of life ha ha. They even sit on my knee when in the bathroom ha ha. I had to shoo one back home...
Hi all
I have survived my first day back, probably as no teaching involved ha ha.
It was a shock to the system putting out food and water in the pitch black this morning. I don't think the ladies would have been able to find it until about 8.40 am when it got light
I really missed them...
OK. So after over 2 months off sick, tomorrow is the day I go back to work and put all your fantastic advice into practice.
Have got that Sunday night feeling really bad but not because of the job - it's leaving my 6 lovely ladies and 4 cats all day. They will miss me but not as much as I...
Ha ha. So am I.
However, chickens feet are tough. My little silkies have the option to be inside or in the runs or poly tunnel but they waddle about on the frosty grass - even the snow. When I worry too much I think about the wild birds in the bare winter trees - they are fine ha ha.
Aaaww thanks for such a lovely post.
I'd like to win the lottery so I could buy an animal sanctuary. However, as I rarely buy a ticket ...
I appreciate your thoughts on depression and agree. It is crazy how we feel 'guilty' or even ashamed - but we shouldn't. Thanks lovely.
Aaaw glad...
I can picture this and it's making me giggle.
When mine have the occasional soft egg they will eat it if it breaks and I don't get to it first ha ha. Not sure they would know how to crack one open though.
Aaaw Denise. Don't feel guilty just be kind to yourself - depression affects all kinds of people, no matter who they are. Robin Williams for example.
Aaawww a one-eyed pug. She sounds adorable. xx
Hey sweetie. You are NOT complaining. I really know what it's like and so do so many other lovely people on this site. I have found that even separated by huge distances it is amazing that we can all reach out and support each other. Our chickens are even more special than we think as they...
Yeah for the solstice ha ha.
Thanks so much for that lovely. I am on the best side now and I like you have nothing really to moan about-apart from I could do with winning the lottery ha ha.
I agree about the hens making you get outside and I can watch their cute little antics for hours...
