I just noticed the metal pole in the background and I'm assuming it's meant to be a roosting bar. Those are hard for them to grab on to and will get pretty cold, not good for a bird that already has frost bite. Real wood or branches will be much more comfortable for him to perch on.

He's a Buff Orpington. Poor guy has some nasty frostbite. Is that yours or your friends setup for him?
