Sorry, it's been a busy few days. Update. She's learned to hop on one leg better. Still no other signs of illness. Still alert. Seems to be bothered being quarantined and sad to watch the others from the porch. No eggs still. 🤷🏼♀️
You're right I hope I'm just freaking out. But I guess only time will tell. Yeah this is South Carolina so this weekend it was in the teens. Right now it's 70 lol! That first night it was right as it was getting dark and I didn't want her to be out in the still cold and I needed to examine her...
I've dropped an egg shell and all in the blender and then scrambled it. Mixing that with some whole mackerel cottage cheese and chopped organic spring mix. I give her a little plate everyday just to keep her spirits up but also have laying pellets, mixed with some rooster whole grains available...
That's a good idea, I don't want them to be mean to her when she goes back. Since it's going to be 70° around here for the rest of the week I thought I should probably at least put her on the screen porch so she doesn't get too used to the warm inside the house. I just don't know how long it...

I don't have a vet around here that I can take her to. I have found a flock manager that will come out but it's a waiting game because she services such a large area. My husband is also not thrilled about the idea immediately, he just got laid off. I'm so worried.
Now she has hobbled over to the tipped over nest and is trying to fix the hay. Maybe she's going to lay!? I'm so worried she needs to and can't. It's a nice day and I have the windows open. I noticed she did this when she started hearing egg songs from outside.
Also, I'm afraid to wrap it because I don't know what's wrong with it and I don't know what would be the best position to keep it in. Not to mention she does very gingerly use it to move around her little enclosure if she has to but I can tell it hurts. I could not find a point of sensitivity...
So my little 9mo. old hen Caroline (actually my little chick I had to do surgery on in a previous post) has an injured leg. Pretty positive it's an injury, but not sure how she got it. I had them out free ranging and had just been talking to her and saw her moving around just fine when I was...
