Powdered zeolite (brand name 'Sweet PDZ') can be a respiratory irritant too.....get the granulated, it's much less dusty.- aart

PDZ is the mineral zeolite, nothing else in there. Hmmm..not sure I buy it warming the coop as you described. But I may try the sunny window experiment just for kicks. What temp was the water you added?- aart
