I've heard of BR being more dominant/pushy. My one adult barred rock (have two in the brooder) is completely indifferent to the flock. She does her own thing and has no interest in being a part of their daily business. She sweet with people and doesn't pick on other birds. She just ignores them...
Things have changed (again) since I made that post. The polish has been rehomed to a friend of mine. The half banty roo was taken by a predator and was replaced by an EE and I have another orpington, 2 GLW, a leghorn and an egyptian fayoumi in the brooder. The polish wound up being a cockerel...
The cool thing with easter eggers is that you can have all easter eggers and still have a varied flock. I had all buff orpingtons a while back and while they were great birds, They all looked the same.
Things have changed since I last posted in here. I might as well throw up an updated list.
1 buff orpington, 2 easter eggers, 1 barred rock, 3 rhode island reds, 2 black sex links, 1 bantam polish and my little roo, who I believe to be OEGB X easter egger (the one in my avatar).
I have 2 buff orpingtons, 2 easter eggers, a barred rock and some sort of bantam X standard mix roo in the coop and 3 RIR, 2 black sex link and a bantam polish in the brooder. The polish is likely to find a new home. It was a cute, mystery chick impulse buy. Hey, it was cute! LOL
