My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

The kids were great! The chicks cooperated so that there were a couple ready to hatch at the time i was to go to the school. I took 2 hatchlings and 2 ready to hatch and one jumped the gun and hatched in the car on the way. The other held on until we got there and the class room got to gather...

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

Silly chickens - they were probably trying to roost up there again while i was gone to teach tonight. They get fresh water and feed check at least 3x per day - they are just messy critters - I swear you can put the fresh water in and by the time they settle down from your big scary hand putting...

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

Yep - that time of day... I'll switch the cam feed over to the one in the brooder.

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

That one partridge seems to be in the middle of all the squabbles - he goes around all day picking fights. I think he MUST be a HE - if it continues he'll be the first to go! He's a beauty though - a huge black crest and a nice even partridge color. I'm suspicious that 4-5 of the 10 silkies...

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

Yep - it's rather warm today - already in the 50s and heading towards 70 by this afternoon. Still foggy though - but they are calling for sunny skies once the fog burns off. If you see anyone head in to the coop for a while...let me know....still waiting for that first egg....

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

Bawk, you should have been around 3 weeks ago when those babies in the brooder were hatching out. I had the webcam in the incubator and we had great fun watching them coming into the world! They are tending to snooze under the cam. Never fails. I'll try moving the light over a bit so the cam...

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

As far as the freezing - my PC runs really smoothly since I put 2GB of RAM in it. I specifically upgraded the RAM to do the webcams and it seems to handle the processing load pretty well... You don't need a 'mega server' type PC to broadcast, but the more RAM you can stack in there, the...

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

The freezing could be my PC, the internet, or Camstreams or anything inbetween... Silky, my webcam I used in the bator is my microsoft one - looks similar to yours. My bator is a 34qt med-sized cooler. I just used duct tape to tape it up in the corner where it had a pretty decent full view of...

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

The webcam is taped to the inside of the brooder. It's a USB connection microsoft livecam. I do have an extension cord on the camera - the brooder is here in my sunroom/office. The outdoor cam is a totally different camera. I just switch the sourcing for the broadcast once the sun goes down...

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

Yep - it's water cleanout time. I noticed that when I put the feed in but I had to run out to take kid #1 to basketball practice...

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

Those darn Campines - they are so dang curious that they hear the door shut to the house and hear me coming and think they need to pop their heads back out to ask me for some treats... My husbands dogs drive me nuts. She has a barking fetish. If you let her in the run with the chickens she...

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

Yep - I think they are all in for the night. If you watch for a few more min, I'm heading out there to put the ramp up and you'll get to see me in person... LOL Now that's a treat for ya. At least i'm not in my PJs this time of day

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

Hoppy is in the smaller chick'N'Barn separate pen that you see in the right side of the image. The silkies are all in there while they finish growing out. Hoppy doesn't like to leave the coop though - she stays in most of the day until I chuck her out to scratch around with the others in the...

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

At the moment, they are all in the coop - they are in the 'mostly decided to stay in for the night' phase. Once in a while one will hop out for a quick drink or look around, but they are 90% up for the night... BTW, Don - love your avatar. Makes me think I have an (evil) twin...

My favorite thing about my ChickNCam...

It's that time of day - getting twilight here and I'm just sitting here watching my chickens put themselves to bed on the ChickNCam. That's my favorite thing about having the web cam out there in the run - it's so neat to watch them put themselves to bed. First they just non-chalantly wander...
