I just edited my post...I discovered I had 2 of the same pic showing. I've got 1 chick who I"m not sure of; in the 1st 2 photos, its in the upper left corner of the basket. In the 3rd pic, its on the far right. Lots of smoky black, but yellow and gold on it too. The in between ones are tough to...
look who hatched and has fluffed all up by now!
6 baby Golden Dudkoo Marans from nivtup!
Help me tell who is a girl and who is a boy. I'm thinking 4 girls and 2 boys at this point.
They are precious. 2 had to be helped out of their shells, so they are a bit smaller and tend to flop...

What are you using to candle these eggs? I've tried and they are so dark, I can't see anything. I can see very well in the other eggs though - (white, light brown, or tinted ones.) Any advice? I'd love to know what's going on in there...its end of day 7 tonight.

edited to say: I...
got my eggs today too. They'll go the bator tonight. They're nice dark brown and I told a friend they looked like chocolate. She said "don't eat them!" I'd never b/c I want each and every one to turn in to a little chick and hatch in 3 weeks.
Thanks Don! I left FB on the feedback...
bumping this....just so I don't lose it in the many pages of BST...

No problem- I just so happy to be scheduled to get your eggs! Thanks for answering my questions- if anyone else (Melissa?) knows more, please add your 2 cents. I'm always wanting to learn as much as I can about these feathered friends I have. Thank you so much!
Lisa
PS- Can everyone...
I got 1 PM from him asking if I want eggs. (I do! Not sure if you meant another one (PM) or not...But I"m still wondering about the meat role of these birds and the different colors at hatch time; if that means they are able to be sexed by their color.

I am so excited now- I'll be getting some of these eggs in Mid Feb. I love the whole incubating and hatching experience! Its so addicting!I will try to be good though, as my husband just does not appreciate the higher electric bills when I'm buying up eggs and hatching them, then...
Will you still have eggs from them available in Mid February? I am buying some chicks and they are to arrive the 1st week of March. I'd like to maybe get my bator up and running mid Feb and try to hatch some that same week so I can brood them together.
You have gorgeous birds and I'd love to...
