Our baby just passed away. She pooped and it was just runny and all white. She had a seizure and just died. I am wrecked. I want to thank all of you for your help and support. I don't know what caused this. Adam thinks it was probably a genetic issue. I love her so much.
We may try to tube feed her tonight if we can find tubing. Cotswold has not eaten anything all day. Only a very little bit of the pea slurry early this AM. Not near enough. I was at one time an EMT first responder and although I never tube fed or intubated anyone I saw it done many times. I am...
The closest Petsmart is about 23 miles away. We called them because someone said they have the syringes/tubes. No, they do have syringes but NONE come with a tube and they don't sell anything like that, so it's good that we didn't drive there only to find that out. Looks like the local hardware...
LOL, neither, but hubby thinks just maybe the hardware store MAY have something that would work. He is going over there at 5 and bringing the syringe. The other 2 ducklings that were in the brooder with Cotswold already have the fresh new chips from this morning all wet---not from any of their...
If we lived in Boston or someplace there would be no problem finding this but we literally live in a small place in the country. We have NO major stores like Target, etc. Most are 25+ miles away. Hubby took syringe and will try to see if hardware store has some kind of tubing that will fit it...
Ok, this is what we have. It is small. I believe it says 8 ml. The writing is kind or worn off. If I can find some tubing that will fit this little thing...
I am not willing to squirt anything down her throat with a syringe unless it has a tube, as suggested. If we can find one, I can follow the directions from the link. I have it here ready to read.
O
Our tractor supply is lame. This is the ONLY syringe that is at the store now:

Looks pretty scary. Not sure that is for ducks....
Every other one says "not currently available at...
No pet store anywhere near hear. Only one about 18 mi. away is for dogs and cats and has "upscale gifts" for them, but nothing like syringe and tubing.
Par for the course---Our tractor supply does not have any syringes in stock. It says 'ship to store'. They said they do not keep that in stock. We have a small syringe we've used to directly give med or food to a sick hen but there is no tube. No place anywhere near here that has aquarium...
We already have VetRx and Nutri-Drench. We are slowly giving her the Nutri-Drench drop by drop and will several times today. No evidence of a respiratory or contagious disease so we had her separated this AM but on advice here she is back with her 2 buddies in the brooder now. Brooder is clean...
Amazon has tons of them but that would take days and days to get. Nothing much here. Small village in country. Walgreens is the only pharmacy. A Walmart is about 22 miles away but I don't think they have it. Seems like there are for sale online, but trying to see if we can get one locally...
Her breathing is normal. Hubby put hands on her and one of the other ducklings and they were both breathing at same rate. Sounds perfectly normal to us. No wheezing, no gasping for breath, etc. They are on shavings from Tractor Supply. I have not seen any of them eat any of it at all.
