    Nope, Wellies lay brown eggs. The gery-ish green was from a mixed breed bird. I'd been playing around with mixing EE and barred Rocks and Leghorns and that egg was one of my more unusual shades. My other Wellie had a more speckled egg.....

    My girl was a bantam Cochin hen.

    I guess you can't see it well, but the bird has nicely feathered feet. Not Marans or Australorp, they both have upright tails. This breed is known for the rounded, fluffy bum and overall shape, they're likened to basketballs , although this hen was not that good quality.

    Here's one. The bird was about a year old when this picture was taken. This bird is a bantam, but the breed comes in large fowl and bantam both.

    Yep, he's a rooster. His name is Mel , after Mel Gibson. Langshan is a very good guess. They have straight combs, white skin and feathered legs, and come in this blue color. But, they're a leggier bird with a more upright stance. This guy is a Marans.

    I'll go---here's one of my only purebred birds . And to help you out, I'll tell you it really truly does have feathers on it's legs, they just got worn/broken off.
