Hey is anybody up for the Designer Swap Thread this year?

Just posted the latest offer from the Designer Egg Swap. I'd like to see this swap page get going again.

I have a GQF cabinet type incubator. It has been a good one. This hatch has been the biggest one ice set I. It at once. 201 eggs. I had a lot of infertile eggs especially from one of huge roosters.

I did my hatch had an 87.85% hatch. 94 hatched, three died soon after hatch, 91 survivors. 48 Naked Necks 43 non Naked Necks

Checking in on the chatting that is not going on. Lost a new hen today, too hot I guess. Getting ready to hatch some babies in September. So what's going on with the rest of you? Updating the Designer Egg Swap Chain thread.

Adding a new Naked Neck rooster and two Naked Neck hens tomorrow. Rooster is from my Salmon Naked Neck rooster line if I understood right it is his grandson. Hens don't know if they're from my line or not.

I'm blaming it on the wonky weather we've been having.

I pulled the rest of the eggs that I was incubating. 20-12 were not fertile, 8 had chicks but all dead, 2 of the 8 had started hatching but died before they hatched. So here were the percentages: Set: 37 Hatched: 17 45.945% Fertile Eggs: 25 Fertility: 67.567% So the actual hatch percentage of...

Just pulled 17 Naked Beck babies from the incubator. Not the best hatch only about 46%.

I'm trying to develope a flock of egg laying Naked Necks. The few I have now are descent layers. I have 11 hens that lay. I'm now averaging 6 to 8 eggs a day from them. Today I got ten so some days are better than others. Two if he hens aren't NN but are actually 1/2 NN, from their daddy...

Is there still any interest in the Designer Egg Swap thread? Someone just posted on it wondering. There hasn't been any movement on it in a while.

Well I think I pretty we'll got the job but not sure of what it is suppose to pay. I'll find that out if they call me in for the next step.

Been awake sine 2:45 a.m. Cannot go back to sleep. Got a job interview @ 9:00, I just keep thinking about most likely the reason I can't sleep. So here I am sitting up looking at BYC and watching Law & Order.

Have seen some movement on the Designer Egg Swap chain today. Lets keep it rolling. I'm looking for Naked Necks myself.

I'm decreasing my flock. I'm getting down to 5 Naked Neck hen lines and 1 line that has a Naked Neck hen her aunt that looks like as EE but is half Naked Neck. The EE/NN hens 3/4 NN hen but lays a green egg. So there will be 6 lines altogether.

You can get some awfully cute chicks from the Designer Egg Swap Thread. These were some from my flock. They will no longer be available as I no longer have tge rooster that produced these. I will have many more designer eggs available sooner or later.

I have 30 chicks picked out for growing out for myself. Naked Necks, Easter Eggers, Marans, and Aloha chickens. I also have 48 Sebrights eggs on for a April 23rd hatch. Crossed Golden and Buff. Depends in how they turn out may be keeping a few of those.
