Hmm I don't see one either? Maybe her legs are feeling weak for some reason ? Not sure if heat would have anything to do with it, but it has been very hot here, perhaps she is lower on energy or needs a vitamin boost? Hope she improves and gets back to herself!

Good advice! Isolated in more darkness, does help healing. We did this with a feather pecked hen and also for a prolapse hen that needed time to heal!

Seems like some do the cutting and others do not. We have done it already, but it's been a few years now that we have had to do so. We also had a bird with a bumble, who got over it all on her own as well! So, sometimes it appears it isn't needed!?! If it hens again, we will be sure it's...

the ointment could work...it sure sounds good! However, when we had it, we just used human triple antibiotics gel on her! If you knew our son, he is typically a minimalist in treatments and applications, and often not overdoing has seemed to be quite effective, overall. It is difficult to...

Great work! Wow, and you even got the photo uploaded! I hope your hen does well! Keeping it clean and infection free is always a challenge! What a lucky hen! :thumbsup

Bumble Foot! We did surgery once on a hen, with success, but wow, your stories on here are impressive! For antibiotics, we were able to get them from a nearby Fleet Farm, which would be much less expensive than going to most vets, at least for us. Often web MD has meds for animals and they...
