AHHH yes that would be a cute name. I only have two more bantam eggs in the incubator and that will be it from them. my sis-in law is going to take the whole flock of feathered bantams. I am keeping my naked babies. The others will be her pets.

Thats interesting....wonder if the rooster and hen both carry the same genes...it may be a dominant gene because it is showing up in all offspring.

[/IMG] Buff , streak, and Naki are growing well and making a shambles of the brooder box. I think streak likes to play games because he is always putting paper in the drink bowl. However, he is good with all the new hatches. He is now about 3 months old and loving his family.

Well I am convinced that something genetic is going on. I now have 3 baldies. I also know the source so one of my hens will be moved. She is my roosters sister. I tracked the boy I bought them from down. So apparently brother sister breeding does make a difference.

They are both Cochin bantams and they both have sprouted some fluffy wing feathers but not really feathers. They will probably not ever sprout full feathers.

Streak is almost 6 weeks now and Buff is about 4 weeks.

Streak has taken buffy in as his/hers so this will be an interesting adventure.

as you can see buffy is the smallest of all the new hatches. And big ol streak is huge compared to buffy.

I'm not sure about hers but I know that none of the Cochin D'anver eggs hatched except 4 out if the last two hatches and buffy was one of them. All of the regular lavender Cochin eggs of hers hatched and all but 3 of my buffs have hatched. I broke 2 and 1 was the first lay. So I dunno.

I've heard that brother sister breeding can cause flaws too...so I'm not sure exactly what he did there...
