Hi all, I'm looking for some answers about my RIR hens I have 2 and Ihave 3 Del's also 2 RIR roosters and they bet the star's out of the rir hens to the point that one will just hide in the woods she may have a nest in there.
I have since sseparated them, only one of them is laying. But now im...
The two roos I got a couple weeks ago are about 5 months old, I'm not sure the one has ever seen a roost, he always lays on the ground he has no feathers on his chest.
Is there anything I can do besides give him a roost?
My new roo just ripped a quarter size chunk of skin out of my hens neck! I have them separated now. Besides neosporen what should I put on her neck, if anything?
Hopefully you've had your coffee, I've had three already!
I have two roos and five hen, they are in a coop/run situation until the roos learn where home and food/water is.
Hopefully soon they will all be free range. They range through the day and coop at night.
Now that the boys (who are 5 months old) are in with the hens(who are 3 months old) how long will the roosters try to bread the hens? At what age do the hens start to squat for the roos? Or is it going to be trial and error for the roos until the get it right?
I would like to replace my RIR rooster just lost him a little bit ago .
Anyone in southwest Pa know where I can find one?
Also lost a del hen ld like to replace them both, any suggestions I'd like to maybe have some white eggs to go with the brown eggs
