Homesteader2
In the Brooder
Hi,
I'm in Illinois at the moment. We're preparing to move to our new homestead in Northern Arkansas. We sold our business last year in preparation for this major shift in our lives. We have 15 acres, barn, and coop. (Also house and garage but that's not the important part...) 2 ponds with the lower pasture pond spring fed. Its a scary time for us but we're committed to raise healthy food without chemicals or GMO's. In that same line of thinking we decided to raise endangered heritage animals.
Our first baby step is find our chickens. We're going to raise Dorkings. And we're getting Muscovy Ducks to keep the insect population under control (fingers crossed).
Its a scary but happy time for us. I think this is the right place to be looking for education and information. So far, everyone has been nice and helpful. Truly wonderful website.
God Bless and Best Wishes
