I have a guinea fowl started laying yesterday and today I have another egg from her. The problem is that she just lays the egg on the floor. So I was wondering if I could collect some of her eggs and put them under a pigeon to hatch them.i know guinea fowl take longer but I I just want to hatch some guineas.also could someone explain to me why she is laying so late or is it late for her to lay eggs isn't the season over?

My guineas laid eggs throughout the spring, summer, and fall. I have hatched bantams under pigeons. The eggs must be light colored. Pigeons may stop brooding before the incubation time of a guinea is complete. Two eggs is what pigeons normally brood-when there is more some are often pushed aside. You can give it a try; you'd only be out two guinea eggs if it doesn't work and maybe you have a second pigeon that could brood the eggs until they hatch. When the eggs hatch the pigeons are going to be very confused when the chicks want to leave the nest! The one time I did this with bantam eggs the pigeon pair actually walked around with the chicks for a short time then I gave the chicks to a bantam hen that had new chicks.
