Not sure where exactly to post my question, som if this is the wrong place.. i am sorry..
I have a problem with lice and mites - I think due to the warm weather.. I clean everyday by the chicks, so it is not because it´s dirty or misheld. Anyways, I have ordered Ivermectin from GB to help me with the problem, since everything in DK is on prescription, and very few vets know anything about parasties ind chickens. My question is; how young can the birds be treated? I use the Ivermectin 1% 10 ml. drops spot on, which is to be given at the back of the neck on the bird, 1 drop per 500 grams. I have treated the adult birds, but with coops as well, I never seem to get rid of the problem.... if I cannot treat..
Thank you
monica

I'm not sure about the dosage or age (I hop this helps: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/687442/treating-with-ivermectin) but you could try wood ash dust baths or DE in the coop. We have mite problems but the chickens manage to get rid of them themselves with dust bathing.

Best of luck!

The. They all run free in the garden, so it is difficult to control were they choose to dustbath but I Will give it a try

okay, my hope is, that I will be able to keep it down to a level manageable until they are big enough to treat. I just hate uninvited guest in my chick-house :)
