Scours in little pig??? Please help

Just processed oats. It seemed to bind them up a little. I live in a similar area as you do. I'm on a little island of county in the middle of the city. (it's a great location for selling eggs

Tamworths are great bacon pigs. Should taste really good.

Yep, can't pass up a good deal.

Are they warm enough? We made the mistake of not using a heat lamp on our little ones and they got sick from the cold. I don't know what your temps are there right now but I thought I'd share what we did wrong so you don't have to learn anew.

Give her a day and see what happens. I'm really thinking it's just the food. That is how they react so don't panic. Keeping her hydrated is the most important thing right now. Sorry you are having to go through this, I know how it is. Just pray you don't ever have to give them a shot. The phrase, "Squeal like a stuck pig" has an all new meaning to me now.

Hi, you can add some Gatorade or Pedialyte to their water, .you can aslo use Immodium AD for adult pigs..so, maybe you can use it in piglets also?..i'd call a vet and just ask them what you can do...they say scours in a piglet is bad news..they go down very fast...best of luck, Wendy

You can except some scours in any animal when their feed is changed. I wouldn't worry unless it went on for more than a couple days, at which point you have plenty of alternatives for treatment.

Scouts isn't nearly as bad an issue with pigs as it is ruminants.

Thanks, ya'll. I appreciate the help more than you know.
I checked her this morning. She is up and running around, just like normal. She's eating and drinking, but still has the diarhea.
I'm going to a more rural county today for my pig food, so hopefully, I can find something there to help, just in case. I'm going to get her something to help keep her hydrated for sure.
I wish I could call a vet, but there are NONE that I can find in the whole state of SC that deals with pigs. I've looked everywhere!!
Thanks again. I'll keep you posted!

Here's the update, ya'll.
Pigs are back on their normal food. I gave Penny some pedialyte, which she loved by the way. I gave her oats to eat also. She seems like she is almost back to normal. Luckily, it was nothing serious.
Thanks for all of the great advice. I'm glad I have knowledgable people to ask!!
