Very poorly 6 year old lady :(

Thank you for asking. She's still alive, a little better I think. She's had a dose of nutri-drops for the last 4 days, I've bathed the 'hole' and it appears to be clean now and I've sprayed it with some antiseptic wound spray. She's away from the other ladies. Just need to wait now. Not sure if the hole will heal itself or not as it's quite big. What do you think?

Sounds like your doing a great job taking care of her. :) I honestly don't know about the hole, chickens are amazing at healing themselves, but I've never personally experienced a large wound like that. I'll tag some members that may be able to give more advice:

If all the maggots are gone, she is on her way to healing (barring any type of infection). Get tweezers if you must... but they ALL must be removed.

Increase her protein intake. That will help her rebuild any tissue.

Keep doing what you're doing with they wound spray and give her a little time. She should heal herself very nicely. :)

I hope she makes a full recovery!
