Ducks are not laying...

I forgot a really obvious one - clean bedding. My girls just stopped for a few days, yesterday I cleaned out and put in fresh straw, eggs this morning. Its been cold so I've got some oats soaking for this afternoon. Should have at least 5 tomorrow morning

Hey, buddy, you think a few days of chat is gonna produce an instant landslide? We duckies have feelings, ya know!!! Threats do not make for contented (read - laying) duckies!!!

Just keep up the good work - it's already showing some results in just a few days. . . egg laying is a big job. How would you like to produce something proportional to an egg a day? Eh???

It was a joke I didn't expect instant results, although I am considering getting a bucket of KFC and having a sit down w/ the chickens. :rofl: I let everyone out to graze today and was able to call them from across the yard to come back in their pen, so we are getting somewhere. Of course I did have a bucket of food in my hand.

I thought that you were, but never can be too careful. I'd hate to get reported to the BYC admins for threatening my livestock. LOL

Someone did a study and determined that email (and therefore whatever we write here) is the worst form of communication.

We occasionally have to backtrack in threads because we all have different backgrounds, some have very different cultures. And so we can misunderstand, and be misunderstood.

I don't often joke around, but I did not resist the temptation this time.

While we're on this joke, my latest rescue chookie Gertrude came to me for retirement. The fellow who brought her said, 'she stopped laying eggs. So I put the axe next to the door. But she still didn't lay one till this morning right before we left'

Well, I have gotten 2 eggs since starting this thread, so maybe the TLC works?
