It came from MPC in a brown egg layer assortment. So it lays brown eggs.

Chipmunk color is very common in chickens.

It is probably a Speckled Sussex.
It might be a Dark Cornish, but it looks much more like an SS to me...although its legs appear more yellow. SS should have pink/beige legs....but hatcheries are often off on the leg color from standard.

I'm about to get some Americana chicks and when I looked up 'Americana chicks' they looked just like that???
