Mobile layer housing design search

Nope. Not in Australia. I'm in SW Missouri, in the Ozarks.

I've seen the Taranaki FB page, but did not see the shot of the truss that you posted. Thanks. That is helpful. I do not need one as large as Salatin's. I currently have about 120 chickens, but am looking to expand to around 400-500. So I can build a smaller version of his X-Wing Millennium Falcon. I do like the powered conveyor belt, although it would not be a big deal to crank one, I think. I like the openness and roominess of his design and that you don't have a floor, so you don't have to clean that; that their droppings fertilize the pasture; it's easily accessible; he says it's easy to move (we'll see); and it seems to be pretty solid and should survive lots of moving on potentially uneven surfaces.

I have just a few acres right now, but am in the process of buying a larger farm where I will have room to pasture them properly. I am also considering mob grazing cattle and following them with the chickens. It seems like a more cost-effective use of the land than isolating certain acres to one animal variety only.

Thanks for your input. I'm enjoying the exchange of ideas.
There are a couple sources for the automated next boxes. The folks in Australia are selling the chicken caravan with automated boxes and there's an Italian firm that's willing to work at our scale. Most us firms are only interested in supporting the CAFOs.
