Building New Coop/Barn...Phase 5 Great Barn Build, OCCUPIED! 3/6/16

This county is becoming too citified. For an inspection fee of $100, we get to submit to a site inspection tomorrow, then we have to go pick up the permit if it's acceptable, then they have to inspect all over again. He better not say anything about my rock erosion barrier. I am doing it all by myself, other than DH helping to truck some of the super big stones to the site (probably 50-70 lbs, some of them). It is NOT coming down.

Wow! Here we don't need a permit unless the building is going to be attached to a permanent foundation, like concrete. Sounds like a way to tax the residents without calling it a tax. It must be exciting, though, to be getting a brand new building! Another way to spoil those deserving chickens (and their pet humans!)

This county has become much more money hungry. Supposedly, you don't need a permit if it costs less than $1000, which is the case with every coop here because we built them all with scrounged materials. But, this building is way more than that so here we go with the hands out for cash.

Working on my erosion barrier of stone, almost finished. That is paver base between, not concrete.

You're making my back hurt, nice job, we also have greedy permit people, so far we have just built smaller things, and done some remodeling, though the assessor has came around a time or two to up our value and taxes.

Oh, they upped our value, too, and this building will probably send our taxes even higher. After all that, I planted 24 daffodil bulbs and some mystery seeds I found in my late father's basement. He saved seeds from everything, even if he didn't know what they were. If someone can ID either of these, I'd love it. One looks almost like dahlia seeds.

*yes, my back hurts. And my shoulders. And my arms. And my neck. And my head. And..and...and...and.......

Top bunch might be zinnias, a better look at the actual seeds would help, maybe, bottom looks familiar as well, trying to think of it.

Wall looks nice, but makes my back hurt just looking at it. Good luck with all the inspections.

Oh, I'd love for them to be zinnias. There were even some I think were monkey grass in an oatmeal container. And some that had a piece of paper. I grabbed it to see what they were and he'd written, "What are these?" LOL. If the farmer didn't know, I sure don't!

Thanks. I'm going to bed early. I was almost queasy with exhaustion this evening.
