I live in Texas. I have been raising chickens for about 1 1/2 years. I am a S.A.H.M. of 7 along with over 2 dozen chickens, thanks to the very welcome addition of babies that we have had in the past few days. I am not sure what breed every one of my chickens is, but I do know that I have RIR, Buff Orphs, a leghorn, and am thinking Amerecauna or some kind of bantam. We live on a lake and also have indian runner ducks. I would love to get some peckin ducks, but I think I can wait until next spring to ensure they survive a harsh tx winter.

yes it is busy around here. I have chicks hatching right now. So far 15/18 have made it. Sadly one seems to have a broken or deformed leg :( bout to ask if anyone has any ideas on that. Idk if i could tie a string and hope he figures it out?

Nice to meet you Chanda. You may want to post about his leg at "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread. Welcome to Backyard chickens.

Hi Chanda,

Recently the duck breed focus was on Indian Runner ducks, you might enjoy reading that thread:

Hope the little chick with the bum leg is ok.

Thanks for joining us!
