Hello folks!! :frow I haven't been on here in a while, and I missed this site. :( Someone gave me another chicken. I just want to know if it is a hen or rooster, because I really don't need another rooster. :th So what do yall think?

Thank you...I was really hoping it would be a hen, especially since my rooster seemed interested and was dancing for it. Oh well, off to search for it a home. Lol! :)
 
yep, cockerel. I'd be gifting that bird right back to your "friend"...why should you deal with finding it a new home?
 
I always say "beware of friends bearing chickens." they generally turn out to be cockerels. Give it back and announce "Last tag!" Send him a fruit cake at Xmas to get even.
 
Okay thank you guys. :) In the defense of my friend though, it was truly believed to be a hen. Lol!!! I'm actually debating on possibly keeping him and getting a flock of pullets for him next spring, and building a whole new pen. I'm just not quite sure yet if I want two flocks or not yet. Or if my husband wants to build another coop and pen. But they say chicken math gets to you. Lol! :p Thanks so much for helping me out yall! Yall are great.
