This is my first BR, and I need help. I'm hoping for a hen but suspicious it's a roo. It's legs are huge compared to my wyandotte hens.

How old is the chicken in question? If it is less than 16 weeks old, I would say its a cockerel.This is my first BR, and I need help. I'm hoping for a hen but suspicious it's a roo. It's legs are huge compared to my wyandotte hens.

I bought from a local farmer and he was unsure, I'm guessing he had to many birds to keep track. But the ad said 20 weeks.

It's a cockerel. and it's a mixed breed, not a pure Rock.
Yea. Those are some thick legs. Looks pretty lean and has a nice waddle n comb so far. Rooster for sure. Personally, id start handling him a lot more. Picking up, hand feeding, sitting in the coop a while etc. one of our neighbors in PA didnt interact with his RIR rooster much and when he got bigger he started kicking him since he was the "bad man that steals the eggs".
I agree Barred rock mix Cockerel, he has solid black patches near his wings
