I have a hen who went lame about a month ago. She just suddenly could not walk on her left leg. I have checked her leg and foot, and can't see any breaks or other problems, but she won't put weight on that leg. I put her in our shed in a cage with food and water because the other chickens were picking on her, and she seems to be happy in there. She's eating and drinking, and has no other problems. Every day I set her outside so she can try to walk, but nothing. She's curling her foot under on that side, which makes me wonder if she's had a stroke or something. Any ideas what might be going on? I don't know what to do with her, as I don't want to put her down. She's one of my favorite hens.
