Today is day 21 in the incubator, I can hear faint "chirping" from inside the egg.
Is this normal ?
I don't see any pipping ....

Anyone knows anything about what this might be?

hi,
i don't really know but it could be that the chick is ready to come out and will start pipping? How long has the chirping been going on?

If you hear chirping it is a sign that they have internally pipped the membrane. I usually have chicks within 24 hours of hearing chirping. Now it's getting exciting!!

Thank you for all your replies, I am so excited now,,, got the brooder ready....
But now been 12 hours, only one egg has a small crack....

I do not have a hygrometer, by looking at the photo, does anyone know approx the % of humidity in the incubator?

welcome to this world little guy.
This is the only one that came out today in the incubator, I am expecting 6 more ... but I guess they are still not ready.

I have 6-8 eggs from the same batch under a broody hen, but no signs of chicks,,, day 22... anyone know if this means that they all probably died?

He cute! Silkie?! Congrats!!:jumpy:weee

Did they start under a broody? If yes they may not have been on the same day. Do you hear chirping? Give it a couple days you may be surprised. Did you candle them all for movement at lock down? You can try to candle them now. Also place the egg next to your ear and see if you hear "clicking".

This my first time and I have been learning along the way. Ten minutes ago , another lucky one managed to come out .
They started under a broody hen , then I realised she had too many under her, then moved a few into the incubator.

Yay!!! So you may have somewhat of a staggered hatch. You can just keep pulling them as they come. Awesome!!
