HELP! What breed is this!

Hey everyone! I need your help determining the breed for my little chick here. I got him/her from a local bird shop and the owner sold me a day old Rhode Island Red (he didn't sound sure about himself. His exact words- "This is that Island red chicken"). He even assured me it was a she. Well as it grew up i noticed its legs were feathered and Ive never seen Rhode Island Reds with feathered legs and its colors seem off compared to other reds I've seen. Can anyone guess what he/she is and maybe even guess its gender? Thanks everyone!

 
Definitely not a RIR, and that guy was full of it. No (pure) RIR or even Production Red will have feathered legs.

I would say you have a Dark Brahma, possibly a Brahma cross - the color is a bit funny.

Looks henny at the moment but it's too young to tell for sure.

Wow that shop keeper was totally off.. thats frustrating. I still love this chicken though and I'm crossing my fingers hoping that its a she.

Anyone else would like to give your input?

Also does anyone have pics of their young brahma chickens?
